Dr. Huey P. Newton Foundation hosts the first annual George Jackson Day with a speaking panel at Dr. Huey P. Newton Center for Research & Action on August 5, 2023 in Oakland, California. The purpose of the event is to highlight the life and teachings of George Jackson, to inform the public on the status of the prison abolition movement, and to offer steps the community can take to continue Jackson’s radical legacy.
